5 winners from 27 entries chosen by panel of judges

The best homemade sausage makers in Western New York competed Saturday during the 12th Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest at Potts Banquet Hall. In addition to the contest, attendees enjoyed live music from Captain Tom & The Hooligans and food from Potts Deli & Grille.
Twenty-seven entries were received this year, all from homemade sausagemakers. Winners were announced in the following categories:
√ Fresh traditional – Keith Bednarz
√ Smoked traditional – Michael Martinez
√ Fresh holiday (with marjoram) – Andrew House
√ Smoked holiday (with marjoram) – Steve Slazak
√ Nontraditional – Keith Bednarz
“It was another great contest thanks to all the entrants who shared their culinary talent with us,” organizer Tod Kniazuk said. “Thanks also to our sponsors for making it possible to continue this great addition to the Polish Easter season.”
