Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Seleste J. Bomberry, age 30, of Niagara Falls, has entered a guilty plea to the crime of manslaughter in the first degree. Bomberry admitted to stabbing and killing her 48-year-old mother, Gennie Blackwell, on March 23 inside their apartment on Main Street in Niagara Falls.
The defendant is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 11, 2026, before County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek, where she will be sentenced to an agreed upon 20 years in prison.
The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Grace Tesmer.
