Niagara Gospel Mission Press Release & Photos
Niagara Gospel Mission once again served as a hub of compassion and community care, distributing more than 1,650 meals to individuals and families in need across Niagara Falls, the Town of Niagara, and the City of North Tonawanda during the Christmas season.
On Dec. 23 and Christmas morning, Niagara Gospel Mission was alive with activity as staff and volunteers worked together to prepare and deliver over 1,650 prepackaged Christmas meals. More than 300 volunteers participated in the annual “Feed the Falls” outreach, serving in a variety of roles to ensure the effort ran smoothly.
Preparations began Tuesday evening as volunteers assembled bags of cookies, rolls and packaged cranberry sauce. Early on Christmas morning, beginning at 7 a.m., volunteers returned to warm turkeys, corn, gravy, stuffing and mashed potatoes before meals were finalized. Another group of volunteers then delivered meals directly to families who had called ahead requesting assistance.

In addition to serving local residents, Niagara Gospel Mission also prepared individual meals for members of the Niagara Falls Police Department, Niagara Falls Fire Department, and security forces at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, honoring those who were away from their families and on duty keeping the community safe Christmas Day.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued success of this outreach, from Thanksgiving through Christmas,” said the Rev. John Cooper, executive director of Niagara Gospel Mission. “Our hope is to remain a consistent beacon of hope to the people of Niagara Falls.”
The success of both the Thanksgiving and Christmas meal distributions continues to affirm the impact of Niagara Gospel Mission’s work. For staff, volunteers and residents alike, these efforts serve as a powerful reminder that compassion, faith and community partnership can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
