City of Buffalo closes Buffalo Skyway due to dangerous winter weather conditions

Due to hazardous winter weather conditions, the City of Buffalo is keeping the Buffalo Skyway closed to all traffic overnight. The roadway first closed early Monday afternoon.
Lake-effect snow, combined with strong wind gusts and reduced visibility, created dangerous travel conditions on the Skyway, including the potential for whiteout conditions. The closure was implemented to protect public safety and allow emergency crews to respond as needed.

The City of Buffalo urges residents to limit travel if possible, slow down when driving, and allow snow removal and emergency personnel the space they need to do their work safely.
