Building stronger families: Nurturing fathers program comes to Lockport

The Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network (BPPN), through its Buffalo fatherhood initiative, is proud to announce the launch of the nurturing fathers program in Lockport beginning Monday, March 23.

This free, 13-week, evidence-based program will meet weekly on from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays at 328 East Ave. Food will be provided for participants. Register at https://bit.ly/46IB8oH.

The nurturing fathers program is a dynamic workshop series designed to equip fathers with practical tools to strengthen family relationships and improve outcomes for their children. Participants will develop effective communication skills, learn discipline strategies without violence or fear, explore healthy co-parenting approaches, and gain insight into supporting the emotional development of their children and families.

“The role fathers play is critical to the lifelong health and success of their children,” said Terry Seay, manager of the Buffalo fatherhood initiative. “When we invest in fathers, we strengthen families and build healthier communities for our children to grow and thrive.”

The Buffalo fatherhood initiative supports and uplifts fathers across Buffalo and Niagara County by promoting parenting, healthy relationships and economic stability. Through mentorship, one-on-one support, and skill-building opportunities, the program empowers fathers to deepen family bonds and become strong, positive role models. As a cornerstone of BPPN’s mission, the initiative plays a vital role in advancing healthier families and stronger communities.
