Worship leaders and songwriters Aodhán King and Benjamin William Hastings debut their new collaboration, “Hollow Grave,” now available on all streaming platforms (here).

This song was born from a 10-day writing and recording session for the two longtime friends. What followed was an immersive writing experience in Nashville, bringing together a close group of friends and co-writers for a fast-paced, faith-driven process.

Today's song, “Hollow Grave,” is a high-energy anthem centered on the paradox of the gospel: life found where death once was.

"We were in the literal doghouse that we converted into a makeshift studio out the back of Hastings' house when we wrote this song,” King said. “Something about the tight quarters and heat of an unairconditioned wood box made us so want to sing about the life and freedom we have in Jesus. We intentionally set out to write a fun song that we could sing in any setting. The juxtaposition of a hollow grave and the fullness of life we’ve found in him quickly became the backbone of the song.”

Hastings said, “This song speaks to the paradox of life in a grave, empty lungs full of praise, hope where there should be none. The joy I feel when I sing this is unlike anything I’ve experienced in a while.”

The track reflects the duo’s desire to create songs that are both accessible and powerful in any setting. With its infectious energy and message of resurrection life, “Hollow Grave” offers a first glimpse of what the 10 days produced. More to come from these two friends.
