Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Jaquan D. Terry, age 28, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes to one count of manslaughter in the first degree (class B violent felony).
On Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at approximately 12:52 p.m., the defendant approached the victim who was sitting inside of parked vehicle on the 200 block of Roslyn Street in the City of Buffalo. The defendant shot the victim with an illegal handgun. After the shooting, the victim, 32-year-old D'Anthony Barron, drove a short distance before he died from the injuries on the 1200 block of East Delavan Avenue.
Terry faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced. He remains held without bail.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Justin H. Caldwell of the homicide bureau, Chief Andres D. Ortiz of the felony trials bureau and Assistant District Attorney Daniel J. Morris of the felony trials bureau.
