Submitted by the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Shawnquilla N. Armstrong, age 32, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced Thursday in Niagara County Court by Judge Caroline Wojtaszek to serve the next 10 years in State Prison for her conviction of two counts of attempted assault in the first degree. Armstrong was sentenced to serve five years for each count, to run consecutively for a total of 10 years.

The case arose from an incident that occurred Sept. 17, 2023, on which date Armstrong intentionally ran over several individuals with a white Chevrolet SUV on Pierce Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls.

“This defendant intentionally drove her vehicle up onto a sidewalk and into a group of people. The tire of her SUV came within inches of running over one individual’s head. It was by sheer luck that nobody was killed,” Seaman said.

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department, and prosecuted by assistant district attorneys Carrington Crossley and Nichole Sands.
