Niagara County will be hosting a series of community meetings regarding Medicare choices for seniors in 2025, as well as other health care program options, according to Darlene DiCarlo, director of the Niagara County Office for the Aging. The annual Medicare enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
“There are many choices for seniors; there can be program changes from year to year; and, quite frankly, it can get overwhelmingly very quickly – so we host these meetings to provide the latest information and really spend a lot of time answering people’s questions,” DiCarlo said.
She said the meetings will include discussions on Medicare health plans, Medicare Part D, NYS EPIC and the “Extra Help” low-income subsidy program.
The scheduled events are:
√ Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m., Town of Lockport Town Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road
√ Oct. 31, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Lockport Senior Center, 33 Ontario St.
√ Nov. 13, 9:30-11:30 a.m., John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd., Niagara Falls
These events are presented by representatives of the Niagara County Office for the Aging and NY Connects. NYS EPIC program staff and Medicare Advantage plan sales representatives will be present. Those with any questions can call NY Connects at 716-438-3030.
