On Oct. 15, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the area of 287 Hyde Park Blvd. for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered an unresponsive male lying in the street, who was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
There was an altercation that occurred in the street with several people that led to the victim being struck by the vehicle.
The vehicle fled the scene before officers’ arrival, but was later located nearby in an alley, unoccupied, shortly after the incident by patrol units.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
