Hispanic Women's League announces financial wellness series sponsored by M&T Bank

Today, the Hispanic Women’s League is excited to kick off the sixth year of its financial wellness program, a free event designed to empower the community with essential financial knowledge. This ongoing initiative provides valuable resources on personal finance and financial literacy. This series is an opportunity for community members to gain insights into managing their finances, building credit, and preparing for homeownership. The event is open to all.

Sponsored by M&T Bank, the series will be presented by two financial experts: Kelly Dockery, banking officer and branch manager at M&T Bank William-Emslie YMCA; and Dalia Ruiz, senior bilingual branch manager vice president at Riverside Branch, M&T Bank. Together, they will guide participants through three important financial topics: budgeting, credit and homeownership.

The event schedule is as follows:

Part one: budgeting – April 7, 6-8 p.m.; part two: credit – May 1, 6-8 p.m.; part three: homeownership – May 20, 6-8 p.m. All events will be held at the Evergreen Commons, located at 67 Prospect Ave., Buffalo (Georgia Street entrance).

The mission of the Hispanic Women's League is to improve the quality of life, assist in the personal and professional development, and advocate for the concerns of the Hispanic woman. The primary commitment of the Hispanic Women's League is to provide scholarships to women of Hispanic descent for the attainment of higher education. In addition, the league performs and participates in numerous community services, fundraising efforts, and makes contributions specifically geared to address the unique concerns of the Hispanic woman and the Latino community.
