Alternative rock icons take Grandstand Stage Aug. 11
Erie County Fair Press Release
The Erie County Fair is excited to announce a free concert featuring multi-Platinum alternative rock band Everclear on Monday, Aug. 11, at The Buffalo News Grandstand. This nostalgic performance is part of the “Channel 4 Concert Series,” and is included with admission (no extra ticket is required).
Celebrating over 30 years of music, Everclear is best known for smash hits “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “Wonderful” and “I Will Buy You A New Life.” With more than 6 million records sold, 12 Top 40 hits across rock and alternative charts, and a Grammy nomination to their name, Everclear has cemented its place as one of the most enduring alternative rock bands of the ’90s.
Led by founder, vocalist and guitarist Art Alexakis, the band continues to thrive with a high-energy lineup featuring Davey French (guitar), Freddy Herrera (Bass) and Brian Nolan (drums). Everclear’s recent releases include a 30th anniversary deluxe reissue of “World of Noise,” and the album “Live at The Whisky a Go Go,” showcasing their timeless appeal and explosive stage presence.
Alexakis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2019 and learned he had likely been living with the disease for nearly two decades. Since then, he has become a passionate advocate for MS awareness and has supported organizations such as the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society.
This concert is free with gate admission to the Erie County Fair. Admission tickets go on sale July 1 at www.ECFair.org. Advance sale pricing will be available online from July 1-31 for $17 (includes fees). Regular pricing of $22.60 (includes fees) takes effect Aug. 1-17 online, or can be purchased in-person at the gate during the Erie County Fair, Aug. 6-17 (credit or debit only).
