D&F Travel celebrates 40 years of service

D&F Travel Inc., a Western New York business providing safe and reliable transportation and exciting tours across the country since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Founded in Dunkirk by owner Rick Swanson, the company has been a proud member of the community for four decades.

Fourth generation of Swanson family leadership

In a significant milestone, Richard (RJ) Swanson, Rick Swanson's son, will take on a higher executive role. RJ has been a key fixture at D&F as a dispatcher for the past 10 years, and this move represents another step toward a fourth generation of Swanson family ownership in the bus industry – continuing a legacy that began over 60 years ago with Rick's grandfather.

Travel & tour packages

Beth, vice president and Rick’s sister, has been creating and implementing group tour and travel packages for over 30 years with D&F. She can accommodate all one’s travel needs on the open road with destinations anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, including themed trips to national parks such as Glacier, Redwoods, Grand Canyon, Utah Mighty Five and Yellowstone.

D&F Travel is committed to serving the Western New York community for many years to come.

The company has invested in two new 2025 56 passenger MCI J-4500 buses and has placed orders for more before the end of the year. D&F currently has 14 full-sized 56-passenger coach buses fully equipped with restroom, entertainment equipment, USB ports and electrical outlets, and is proud to employ 19 A school certified quality motor coach operators who continuously maintain a satisfactory rating with the USDOT.

Giving back to the community

This year, D&F will offer a new loyalty program for tour passengers, a discounted gift certificate sale online, and special anniversary celebration trips for valued passengers.

Beginning in May, it will partner with FeedMore WNY to collect nonperishable foods at the office located at 331 Alberta Drive, Amherst.
