Get ready to ride into a day of excitement at the LaSalle Library on July 2, from 2-4 p.n.! The library is hosting a “bike rodeo,” a family-friendly event designed to promote safe cycling, fun and fitness, featuring activities and attractions for all ages. This free event is sponsored by 3rd District Legislator Chris McKimmie.

The rodeo will take place at the library, 8728 Buffalo Ave., and will include a variety of engaging activities such as a skills course, helmet fittings, and a bicycle repair station.

“I’m happy to partner with the LaSalle Library for this great, family-friendly event that brings our community together,” McKimmie said. “Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cyclist, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Event highlights include:

•Skills course – Test your cycling skills with a fun and challenging course, set up by experts from GoBike Buffalo, designed to improve your balance, coordination and handling.

•Helmet fittings – Learn the importance of helmet safety with professional fittings to ensure that every rider stays safe on the road.

•Bicycle repair station – Got a flat? Need a tune-up? Experts from GoBike Buffalo will be on hand to offer free basic bike repairs and maintenance tips.

•Child seat safety check – The Niagara Falls Police Department will offer child passenger safety seat checks.

•Refreshments and giveaways – Enjoy light refreshments while you explore the event, and grab a bike safety activity pack to reinforce everything you’ve learned at the rodeo.

•Meet your favorite heroes – Don’t miss the chance to meet Captain America and Wonder Woman, who will be on-site to meet and take photos with participants!

•Summer reading challenge – Reading during the summer keeps kids’ brains strong and sharp! Be sure to sign up for the “Color Our World” challenge for the chance to earn fun prizes.
