Tops Friendly Markets is proud to announce the outstanding success of its 2025 community-driven food insecurity campaigns: “Food 2 Families,” “Food for Families” and “Check Out Hunger.” These initiatives collectively raised an incredible $759,386, thanks to the continued generosity and compassion of Tops shoppers and associates.

The “Check Out Hunger” campaign alone raised $294,888, which will directly support local food banks in their efforts to expand reach and provide essential resources to families in need. Thanks to donations made at the register, customers could easily round up or contribute $2, $3 or $5 to help provide food for local food banks.

Meanwhile, Tops’ annual “Food 2 Families” and “Food for Families” campaigns brought in an impressive $464,498 in both monetary and product donations, which continued to arrive at food banks well into the summer months. These monetary donations are able to be stretched even further thanks to the purchasing power of area food banks. Customers were able to make an impact by purchasing “Little Brown Bags of Hope” paper icons at the register or online and choose from a $5, $10 or $20 bag option to support a family in our community.

“The generosity of the communities we serve knows no bounds,” said Ron Ferri, president of Tops Friendly Markets. “These incredible results are a testament to the giving spirit of our neighbors and the shared commitment to supporting one another. At Tops, our mission to eradicate hunger and improving the quality of life for children and families drives everything we do. These campaigns not only bring food to tables – they bring hope, dignity, and the reminder that we are stronger together.”

These vital campaigns would not be possible without the compassionate hearts of Tops associates and the unwavering support of our customers. Together, we've once again shown what a difference we can make in the lives of our fellow neighbors.

Tops remains committed to the fight against hunger, and continues to support food banks and pantries with the support of community partners year-round to address the ongoing need.
