Niagara County DA announces guilty verdict in murder case

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced a Niagara County jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts in in the murder case against Al Villane, 35 years old, of Niagara Falls. Villane was convicted of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree in the stabbing death of 47-year-old Hollis Stewart on Sept. 19, 2022, in a residence on the 700 block of 20th Street in Niagara Falls.

Villane faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he returns to court to be sentenced by County Court Judge John Ottaviano.

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant ADAs Maria Stoelting and Carrington Crossley.
