Niagara Pride, the leading organization supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Niagara County, announced its fifth anniversary celebration event will take place from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Kenan Center, 433 Locust St., Lockport. It promises to be a memorable evening filled with entertainment, inspiration and camaraderie.

Over the past five years, Niagara Pride has made significant strides in promoting visibility, creating safe spaces, and fostering community partnerships for the LGBTQ+ community. To commemorate this milestone, the fifth anniversary celebration will bring together community members, allies and partners to recognize the progress made and look ahead to the future.

What began as a monthly social coffee meet-up group transitioned into a nonprofit corporation in 2020 offering year-round programs and support, including drop-in programs for youth and older adults, legal clinics and social events.

"We are immensely proud of the work we've done over the past five years, and we're eager to continue our mission of supporting and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community in Niagara County," said Dr. Ronald Piaseczny, LMHC, president of Niagara Pride. "Our fifth anniversary celebration is an opportunity to honor the progress we've made, celebrate the diverse and vibrant community we serve, and recommit ourselves to the work that still lies ahead."

The fifth anniversary celebration will feature a silent auction featuring unique items and experiences; inspiring speeches from community leaders and advocates; and a showcase of Niagara Pride's accomplishments over the past five years.

Tickets are $50 per person and include wine, light fare and a silent auction. Purchase online at www.niagarapride.org/5th-anniversary.
