Countdown begins: Only 3 weeks until 'Wicked' flies back into Shea's Buffalo Theatre

“Wicked” returns to Shea’s Buffalo Theatre for 24 spellbinding performances, running Nov. 12-30, including a special performance schedule over Thanksgiving week. Part of the Five Star Bank 2025-2026 Broadway Season, tickets are flying fast, but there is still time to grab great seats.

Tickets are available at Shea’s box office, at 650 Main St., downtown Buffalo, or through the Shea’s website at: https://www.sheas.org/performances/wicked.

With just three weeks until the Broadway blockbuster “Wicked” lands in Buffalo, Shea’s Performing Arts Center is thrilled to announce a series of special activities celebrating the arrival of Broadway’s most popular musical. Take part in the excitement with these “Wicked”-themed events:

•“Wicked For Good” food drive: Shea’s is teaming up with FeedMore WNY to collect nonperishable food items. Donations will be accepted at all entrances to Shea’s Buffalo prior to each performance of “Wicked,” and can also be dropped off throughout the day in the Shea’s box office.

•Turning Buffalo Emerald City green: In coordination with Mayor Christopher Scanlon’s Buffalo LIT program, landmarks across Western New York – including the top of Buffalo City Hall – will be lit Emerald City green Nov. 12-14, as “Wicked” flies into Buffalo.

•“Wicked Night Out”: Restaurants in and around downtown Buffalo will be offering special promotions throughout the “Wicked” engagement.

•“Wicked” talkback: Patrons attending the “Wicked” performance at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, can stay for a post-show Q&A talkback session with “Wicked” company members.

•“Wicked Family Night”: From 5-6 p.m., prior to the 6:30 p.m. performance Sunday, Nov. 23, families are invited to stop down the street at Shea’s 710 Theatre for free preshow family activities including crafts, trivia and games led by Shea’s arts engagement and education team. 

•“Grateful and Green Giveaway”: Every ticketbuyer purchasing tickets between Nov. 1-12 for a “Wicked” performances during Thanksgiving week (Nov. 25-30) is entered to win a package of “Wicked” merchandise.

•“Shop Wickedly Local”: Western New Yorkers are encouraged to do their holiday shopping at local businesses, including those around Western New York designing their storefronts, food items, or retail displays around the “Wicked” theme.

The fourth-longest-running show in Broadway history, “Wicked” is celebrating its 22nd anniversary on Broadway on Oct. 30. Winner of over 100 international awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, “Wicked” has been performed in over 100 cities in 16 countries around the world. This marks the fifth time “Wicked” will take the Shea’s Buffalo Theatre stage.

The Broadway sensation “Wicked” looks at what happened in the Land of Oz … but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships … until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”
