Press Release

The Summit Federal Credit Union traditionally helps those in need in the Buffalo region throughout the holiday season by supporting FeedMore WNY’s “Plates of Thanks” initiative.

Monetary donations will be accepted through Dec. 31 at either of The Summit’s Buffalo branches (at 5641 Transit Road, or 2290 Delaware Ave.).

The Summit has taken part in this program since 2012, enabling FeedMore WNY to provide nutritious food and critical resources to our neighbors in need. Since this partnership began, The Summit has collected and donated over $30,000 to FeedMore WNY.

The Summit will also be supporting the Villa of Hope in Rochester; and the Central New York, Seneca, and Cortland County chapters of the United Way throughout the holiday season, reflecting each area served by the credit union’s branches.

“We recognize now more than ever that an increasing number of our neighbors, throughout the regions that we serve, are facing food insecurity,” said Twanda Christensen, The Summit’s vice president of marketing and community engagement. “FeedMore WNY, and the other not-for-profit organizations that we are partnering with this holiday season, provide vital services to Western and Central New York and the Finger Lakes, and our hope is to not only collect sizeable donations for them, but to raise awareness of the work that they do in our communities.”
