Press release

Worship leader and songwriter Alexander Pappas releases his new single, “It Is So Sweet," featuring Chelsea Plank of SEU Worship, ahead of his upcoming EP, “Sunday.” The new song marks the third single from the project, reflecting a meaningful shift in Pappas’ songwriting from a season of releasing what he calls “Monday music” toward songs rooted in “Sunday music,” written specifically for congregational worship and the gathered church.

Listen to "It Is So Sweet" now or watch the video below. Presave and add “Sunday” here.

Rooted in the promise of God’s peace, “It Is So Sweet” highlights the comfort and stability found in walking closely with Jesus. The song closes with a brief tag of the beloved hymn “'Tis So Sweet,” bridging a timeless declaration of trust with a fresh, congregational sound. Joining Pappas on the track is Chelsea Plank, a worship leader and songwriter with SEU Worship, the influential worship collective from Southeastern University, where a spiritual awakening has taken place during the past month on campus.

“Perfect peace is something so sought after, so seldom discovered, and yet so easy to find,” Pappas said. “Choosing to take our steps with Jesus – whether a sprint, walk or crawl – is the path to that peace.”

The message feels especially timely. In a world eager to shake believers from their foundation and rob them of peace, the song serves as a reminder that peace is not the absence of turbulence, but stability in the midst of it.

Pappas said, “This song follows the theme of the whole EP. I pray that this song builds faith on Sunday and becomes a weapon Monday through Saturday, when fears and burdens pile up. I hope people will lean into the promises in these lyrics and find the sweet rhythm of walking with Jesus.”

“It Is So Sweet” follows Pappas’ January release, “Hands Up,” and builds on the momentum of his 2025 single, “Everything With Breath,” both of which will appear on “Sunday.” With a proven history of writing influential worship music alongside Hillsong Young & Free, Pappas brings the same heart, depth and credibility to his solo artistry, crafting songs that continue to impact believers around the world. He is a writer on several CCLI-charting songs, including “Alive,” “Wake,” “Real Love” and “Echo” (Elevation Worship).

Celebrating the upcoming April release, Pappas will perform on “Fox & Friends” "Faith & Friends" series during Lent on Sunday, March 22 (check local listings).

Alexander lives in Los Angeles and is also an active contributor to Lakewood Music. He is managed by 1606 Management
