Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) will celebrate the region’s most inspiring leaders at the 2026 Women of Distinction event, recognizing individuals who exemplify courage, confidence and character, while making a lasting impact across Western New York.
The annual Women of Distinction event brings together community leaders, supporters and advocates to honor women whose professional achievements and community service align with the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
The 2026 Women of Distinction honorees include:
√ Aimiamia Amadasu-McCray, M.B.A., senior vice president, Citi
√ Danielle Bickel, owner, Strokes Painting & Contracting
√ Kate Capel, D.V.M., veterinarian, Perry Veterinary Clinic PLLC
√ Kimberley LaVare, P.M.P., managing director, Clementine Gold Group
The Rising Woman of Distinction is Aditi S. Myneni, Cadette Girl Scout, Troop 34165
This year's honorees represent a diverse range of industries and experiences, from business and STEM to community leadership and youth advocacy. Each honoree has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering others and creating meaningful change in their communities.
“Women of Distinction celebrates leaders who not only excel in their fields, but also lift others up along the way,” GSWNY CEO Cara Biddlecom said. “These honorees serve as powerful role models for the next generation, showing Girl Scouts what is possible when you lead with purpose and passion.”
The 2026 Women of Distinction event will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Salvatore’s, bringing together supporters from across the region to celebrate the honorees and invest in the future of Girl Scouting.
Proceeds from the event support access to Girl Scouts of Western New York programming, including leadership development, outdoor experiences, STEM education, and community service opportunities that reach thousands across the region each year.
