Niagara Gospel Mission officially launched its “Niagara Gospel Country Club,” a new leadership development initiative designed to equip residents with the character, discipline and practical skills needed to successfully reenter the workforce and community.

The kickoff celebration featured the initiation of the program’s inaugural charter members – referred to as the “front 9” – a group of men who have completed both the NGM’s RECON discipleship program and its workforce development training. These individuals have demonstrated readiness to lead and now serve in key roles throughout the organization.

During a ceremony held April 30, each charter member received a “Niagara Gospel Country Club” patch, which is placed on a professional suit used for job interviews and worn throughout the NGM as a visible symbol of leadership, responsibility and achievement.

The “Niagara Gospel Country Club” is built on the principle that true transformation includes not only recovery, but leadership development and community responsibility. Members of the “front 9” will take on active leadership roles within NGM, helping oversee daily operations, mentor fellow residents, and contribute to a culture of accountability and growth.

“These men are not just participants in a program – they are now leaders within our community,” said Rev. John Cooper, NGM executive director. “They have put in the work, completed our programs, and proven themselves ready to lead. This initiative reflects our commitment to raising up men who are prepared to go back into the community with purpose, discipline and direction.”

The program also carries a deeper spiritual vision. Just as individuals come to the NGM seeking a fresh start, the “Niagara Gospel Country Club” reflects the hope of ultimate restoration – pointing to the eternal home found in Christ while providing a tangible pathway to stability and success here and now.

As Niagara Gospel Mission continues expanding its workforce and leadership development efforts, the “Niagara Gospel Country Club” stands as a unique model – empowering residents not only to rebuild their lives, but to lead others in doing the same.
