The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra announced Jennifer J. Barbee was named its next president and executive director, effective Sept. 1.
A respected orchestra executive and longtime BPO leader, Barbee has served the organization since 2010 and currently serves as associate executive director and vice president of development. During her 15 years with the BPO, she has helped shape the orchestra’s strategy, strengthen its financial foundation, deepen its community partnerships, and advance some of its most important artistic and institutional initiatives.
Barbee will succeed Daniel Hart following his more than two decades of leadership. Working in partnership with Music Director JoAnn Falletta, the board of trustees, musicians, staff, volunteers, supporters and community partners, she will lead the BPO into its next chapter of artistic achievement, expanded reach and community impact.
