The University at Buffalo’s department of music is pleased to present “Recital on the Fisk: Eastman Organists” on Friday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall on UB’s North Campus.
This annual recital will feature advanced organ students from the renowned Eastman School of Music, including Yuhe Su, Charles Francis, Andrew Johnson and Adam Chlebek. These accomplished musicians will present a dynamic program showcasing works by Johann Sebastian Bach, César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor, Maurice Duruflé, Jean Langlais and Horatio Parker. The evening will highlight the expressive range and technical brilliance of the organ, with pieces spanning the Baroque era to the 20th century.
Performed on UB’s historic Fisk organ, the program offers a rare opportunity to hear these masterworks in a setting that enhances their grandeur and complexity. Eastman organists have a long tradition of excellence, with past performers securing top prizes in international competitions and prestigious positions in the field.
Tickets are $10. Advance tickets can be purchased at the UB department of music website; at the Center for the Arts box office, Tuesday-Friday from noon-6 p.m.; or at the Slee Hall box office within the hour before concert time. UB students with a valid ID are entitled to one complimentary ticket for each UB music department concert and may pick up their complimentary ticket before concert time.
