Press Release

The Breast Cancer Network of WNY is pleased to announce that its 2025 donation for metastatic breast cancer research has been awarded to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. The $18,000 donation will support a clinical trial for women living with Stage 4, triple-negative breast cancer, led by Dr. Sheheryar Kabraji, chair of breast medicine at Roswell Park.

"Our organization supports women at all stages of breast cancer, with a particular focus on those living with metastatic disease," Executive Director Rob Jones said. "We have tragically lost many members and friends to metastatic breast cancer, and since 2016, we have made annual donations to research in an ongoing effort to make a difference."

Jones said the organization combines memorial gifts with proceeds from an annual fundraiser to accumulate its donation amount.

Since 2016, BCN has donated $93,000 to metastatic breast cancer research, including this most recent donation to the Roswell Park Alliance Fund. Previous donations have supported grants to doctors from Cornell University, University of Rochester, and Roswell Park.

The Breast Cancer Network of WNY is a local, independent nonprofit organization that has been providing support and education services to individuals affected by breast cancer in Western New York since 1994. For more information, visit www.bcnwny.org or call 716-706-0060.
