On April 17, officers were involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit. At the conclusion of the pursuit, as officers approached the vehicle, the vehicle began to drive toward the officers. One officer discharged their firearm, striking the driver of the vehicle. The driver was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Niagara Falls Police criminal division, as well as the office of professional standards, responded to the scene and their investigations are ongoing.
The identities of the driver and the officer involved will not be released at this time. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the result of the investigations.
