100 American Craftsmen Festival returns to Lockport

Longest-running fine art fair in Niagara County celebrates handmade excellence & community spirit

The Kenan Center is proud to announce the return of 100 American Craftsmen, the longest-running fine art fair in Niagara County, taking place on June 7-8. Now entering its 52nd year, this juried festival showcases the region’s most gifted craftspeople, blending tradition with fresh talent in a vibrant celebration of creativity and community. 

“This festival is a cornerstone of the arts in Western New York,” said Bill Patti, executive director of the Kenan Center. “A community thrives when it supports its artists. Handmade art connects us. It's personal, it's storied, and it’s deeply human. That’s what 100 American Craftsmen is all about.” 

The 2025 show will feature over 100 artisans, including returning regional favorites and 25-plus new exhibitors, all selected through a competitive juried process. The mediums will range from ceramics, wood, glass and leather to jewelry, textiles, painting and mixed media.

The Kenan Herb Club will hold its annual plant sale throughout the festival; and to add to the fun, Kid Biz, a festival celebrating young artists, will be present June 7, where nearly 20 young artists selling their wares outside of the Kenan Arena. 

Assistant Director of the Kenan Center Lea Sobieraski emphasized the importance of the festival’s enduring legacy: “Being the longest-standing fine arts fair in Niagara County is something we take great pride in. But it’s more than history; it’s about continued relevance and inspiration. People come here to find something real, something made with passion and skill.” 

Festivalgoers travel from across the region and beyond to reconnect with renowned legacy artists such as Tim Dunn, Lynn Schwab, Reno Pottery and Michael and Patty Cancilla, whose handcrafted works are sought after year after year. The festival also proudly features Roycroft artisans, continuing the tradition of exceptional craftsmanship across disciplines.

“From expert woodworkers, jewelers, painters and glass blowers to fabric artisans and leather workers, this festival brings together the finest in American craft,” Patti said. “It’s a rare opportunity to meet the artists, hear their stories, and take home a piece of their passion.” 

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Free onsite parking is available.
