The 12th Maritime Heritage Conference, presented by the National Maritime Historical Society – home of the Historic Naval Ships Association Symposium – will take place Sept. 24-27 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

The Maritime Heritage Conference (MHC) is an information-packed conference encompassing a broad array of topics bringing together the leadership of the maritime heritage community. Following in the wake of the World Canals Conference, which will be incorporating the bicentennial celebration of the Erie Canal, the 12th MHC will open a three-day program exploring a wide range of session topics and themes to cater to one’s interests. Topics include:

√ Education and preservation: Explore innovative and proven approaches to preserving a maritime legacy from museum professionals.

√ Historic vessel restoration: Gain insights into meticulous arts and best practices.

√ Maritime art and literature: Discover the rich tapestry of maritime-themed art and contemporary literature with leading authors and artists.

√ Naval history: Hear from eminent scholars about the fascinating stories of naval history.

√ Underwater archaeology: Take a deep dive with expert-led sessions uncovering the latest digital imagery and underwater projects.
