Submitted by the Niagara Region of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation

The Niagara Region of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is proud to announce the second annual “Pedal for Parks” in support of local New York state parks.

The non-competitive, family-friendly ride will take place Sunday, Sept. 14, and will start at Artpark State Park. There are four different routes with various lengths that will take riders through Artpark, Joseph Davis, Fort Niagara, Four Mile Creek, Wilson Tuscarora, Devil's Hole, Whirlpool and Niagara Falls state parks.

Additionally, there is a stop at the City of Niagara Falls' LaSalle Waterfront Park. Joseph Davis will feature a family fun stop and water stations, and bike support will be provided along the route. An afterparty will take place at Artpark.

The routes for the ride will show off millions of dollars in recent investments made by New York State Parks in partnership with the Niagara River Greenway, the New York Power Authority, the New York State Department of Transportation and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation in the local trail system, including the new trail and scramble at Artpark and upgrades at Joseph Davis, Devil's Hole and Whirlpool state parks.

All proceeds will stay in Western New York and support programming in the parks.

Qualified New York State Parks Access Pass and Lifetime Liberty Pass holders can send proof of eligibility to Angela.Berti@parks.ny.gov to receive a discount code to register for the 11- and 19- mile rides.
