Niagara University Press Release & Photo
Members of Niagara University’s women’s basketball team and their coaches helped to make the neighborhood around 25th Street in Niagara Falls a little more beautiful during “Rock the Block,” an annual event co-sponsored by NU’s Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement and Habitat for Humanity. On July 23, the student-athletes joined students from the Catholic Heart Work Camp to do minor home repairs, painting, landscaping, fencing, and general clean-up on the block near the newest Habitat for Humanity home.
The Levesque Institute also coordinated other service events for the 350 Catholic Heart campers, who were on campus from July 20-26 to volunteer on the Tuscarora Indian reservation and with organizations in Niagara Falls. This is the second year Niagara University has hosted the camp.
