Press Release
The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a caregiver lunch & learn in Lockport on Saturday, Aug. 23, for Niagara County caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
The caregiver lunch & learn will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lock City Center, located at 2 Locks Plaza, held in partnership with HART (Home Assistance Referral Team) of Lewiston.
“Caregivers work so hard and can be under enormous stress when caring for their loved ones,” said Courtney Sipes, director of community engagement at the WNY chapter. “We invite them to take a break and enjoy a relaxing luncheon with us, while connecting with others who face similar circumstances.”
Staff from the Alzheimer’s Association and HART will discuss strategies to communicate effectively with loved ones living with dementia; and share local, supportive resources available to caregivers in Niagara County.
Registration is required at bit.ly/AlzLunch25 or by calling 800-272-3900.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
