SUNY Niagara Press Release

Just in time for the start of the fall television season, the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute (NFCI) will host a special dinner featuring fictional foods that gained notoriety in some of America’s most beloved shows. The “TV Dinner” will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the NFCI’s Savor restaurant.

Chef and student collaborations will bring to life a menu that includes:

√ Marble rye from Schnitzer’s, as seen in “Seinfeld”

√ CBD-infused “Scooby Snacks,” the “Scooby-Doo” staple

√ Tossed salad and lobster scrambled eggs, from the lyric in “Frasier’s” theme song

√ Cornballs and hot ham water, concocted in “Arrested Development”

√ Milk steak with jelly beans, a favorite in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”

√ Homer’s doughnut, a “The Simpsons” favorite

√ Stapler in Jello, one of the pranks in “The Office”

√ Rachel’s English trifle, made famous in “Friends”

Each course will be paired with a complementary beverage.

“We’re known for excellence in culinary and hospitality education and practice, but we also like to let our fun, quirky side show sometimes,” said Emily Lonigan, director of community education at NFCI. “Fine dining is our mainstay, but the combination of nostalgia and cuisine is a recipe for a unique, primetime event. Each of the dishes at our ‘TV Dinner’ has star power of its own, and we’re going to let them shine.”

“TV Dinner” costs $70 per person, and reservations are required. Visit www.sunyniagara.edu/nfci/ to book seats.

The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute is a SUNY Niagara facility focused on coursework related to the culinary and hospitality industries. Located in Niagara Falls, it houses fully equipped kitchen classrooms, a retail pastry shop, and Savor, which offers patrons a fine dining experience in a restaurant staffed in part by students.
