Press Release
Award-winning singer/songwriter and author Ellie Holcomb released her fourth full-length studio album, “Far Country: (Capitol Christian Music Group). Holcomb’s fresh, 11-song collection boasts expansive landscapes, vivid lyrics, and acoustic-grounded, pop-centric melodies. “Far Country” is an album for anyone who has ever felt lost. Listen to the new album here.
“I wrote this record while searching for God in what felt like a desert and wrestling with questions,” explained Holcomb, who sowed the seeds of these songs with more tears than laughter, and more questions than answers. “ ‘Far Country’ is really the story of encountering the spacious and expansive love of God in the wilderness of longing and sorrow, and discovering that, as dry as the desert is, there are always reservoirs of love and peace right beneath our feet.”
Celebrating the release of her new album and her birthday today, Holcomb is hand-delivering a “Far Country” vinyl to fans who were nominated by others through her socials. Follow along on her Instagram to see her day celebrating her release, her birthday, and her fans!
“Far Country” was produced and engineered by Cason Cooley and executive produced by her dad, Brown Bannister, and Samantha Steele. Songwriters on the album include a powerhouse list, including Holcomb, Jason Ingram, Hank Bentley, Thad Cockrell, Jessie Early, Jon Guerra, Natalie Hemby, Kirby Kapel, Taylor Leonhardt, Latifa Morton, KS Rhodes and Bear Rinehart.
“I pray that these songs will carry beauty and light to every corner of your story, and that they’d whisper, like an old friend, that you are dearly loved and you’ll never walk alone," Holcomb said. "We’re all just kids making our way back home, and I’m honored to sing alongside you on the journey.”
