FeedMore WNY Press Release

A record-breaking 65,100 pounds of food were donated to the 2025 “Huddle for Hunger” community food drive to support FeedMore WNY and its nearly 400 hunger-relief partners throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. This year’s “Huddle for Hunger” totals exceeded the previous record by more than 27,000 pounds. The annual “Huddle for Hunger” drive is made possible through the partnership of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans.

The “Huddle for Hunger” community food drive was held at Highmark Stadium on Tuesday. Donations were made by members of the Western New York community, including 15 area schools who filled school buses and trucks full of food as part of the “Huddle for Hunger” high school challenge. In addition to the nonperishable donations collected at the stadium, donations of fresh produce were made by Allen Family Farms and SnapDragon Apples. Lactalis American Group donated 31,000 pounds of dairy products. Wegmans also donated nearly 6,600 pounds of food on top of its partnership in the “Huddle for Hunger” initiative.

“We are deeply grateful for everyone who came out to support this record-breaking ‘Huddle for Hunger’ community food drive. We especially want to recognize all the schools and students whose creativity and hard work yielded thousands of pounds of food to nourish neighbors facing food insecurity throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties,” said Tara A. Ellis, FeedMore WNY president and CEO. “ ‘Huddle for Hunger’ has become a critical drive for FeedMore WNY and our partner hunger-relief agencies. We thank the Buffalo Bills Foundation, Wegmans and the WNY community for their incredible partnership in alleviating food insecurity throughout the region.”

Fans who donated received a “Buffalo Bills Rivalry” totebag and entered the “Huddle for Hunger Festival,” which featured appearances from Buffalo Bills players and alumni, Billy Buffalo, music, games, giveaways, photo opportunities, and 20 “Huddle for Hunger” charities.

“Huddle for Hunger” continues through Oct. 5 with more ways to get involved:

•Now through Oct. 4, Wegmans is matching every Meals 2Go order dollar for dollar up to $50,000 to support the 20 “Huddle for Hunger” charities.

•On Friday, Oct. 3, the Buffalo Bills Foundation, Wegmans and FeedMore will host a “Huddle for Hunger” food drive at the Jamestown vs. Bennett High School football game at Strider Field in Jamestown. Fans who donate will receive a “Buffalo Bills Rivalry” totebag.

•The net charitable proceeds from the Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots game day 50/50 raffle will benefit the 20 “Huddle for Hunger” charities.
