Geraldine A. Benzing (nee Scaccia), age 83, of Grand Island, passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2025.
She was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Andrew and G. Mae Scaccia. Jeri grew up in Westfield, graduated in 1959, and went to Bryant and Stratton College. She had been employed by Occidental Chemical as an administrative assistant on Grand Island for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles, making molded chocolates and book marks. Geraldine most especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Jeri was a member of the Arthritis Foundation for several years, as well as a member of the Grand Island Historical Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Robert) Agnello of Grand Island; by her brother, Sandy (Shann) Scaccia of Mequon, Wisconsin, and The Villages, Florida; and by her grandsons, Robert III and Joshua Agnello of Grand Island.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island.
