The Lewiston Council on the Arts is proud to present a special 50th anniversary tribute honoring the Edmund Fitzgerald, the legendary Great Lakes freighter that sank in a fierce storm on Nov. 10, 1975.
Hosted by local artist and longtime Edmund Fitzgerald enthusiast Tom Asklar, this evening of remembrance, storytelling, friendship, art and music will pay tribute to the ship and the 29 crew members who lost their lives in the tragedy.
It will take place from 7:10-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Brickyard Brewing Company, 436 Center St., Lewiston. Tickets, priced at $10, are available at the door (free admission for LCA members). There will be a cash bar, and an optional BBC buffet dinner for $25.
“This is not just a remembrance of a maritime tragedy,” Asklar said. “It’s a celebration of the human spirit, of courage, and of the shared history that connects all of us to the Great Lakes.”
The Lewiston Council on the Arts invites the community to come together in honoring one of the Great Lakes’ most poignant stories – through art, music, and the power of remembrance.
