Tops Friendly Markets Press Release
An annual tradition, now 10 years strong, unites Tops Friendly Markets and the City of Tonawanda to give back to those in need during the holiday season. This season, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 77 and St. Francis Food Pantry will once again be the benefactors of a heartfelt donation of 135 turkeys to help those less fortunate.
“The annual tradition of donating turkeys during the holidays reminds us that the true spirit of this season is about giving and caring for one another,” said Courtney Mailhot, manager of community relations for Tops. “In these uncertain times – especially as many families face challenges with SNAP benefits – we want to help bring a sense of comfort and stability to the table. Our goal is to share warmth, kindness and the joy of a festive meal – spreading the generosity that makes this time of year so meaningful for everyone in our community.”
City of Tonawanda Common Council President Jenna Koch said, “The partnership Tops Friendly Markets shares with our community – especially in times of need – is truly vital to our mission of giving back to veterans and families in our city. I am deeply grateful to Tops for their generous donation to local organizations that provide essential resources to those in need. Both the VVA and St. Francis Food Pantry operate around the clock, serving hundreds of individuals and families each month with food and other critical support. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make today possible.”
