The Buffalo Bills are headed to Jacksonville, Florida, to take on the Jaguars in the NFL Wild Card round. The game will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at EverBank Stadium. Excited Bills fans, who filled Highmark Stadium yesterday, will certainly want to be there to see the game in person. AAA travel advisers are fielding calls from fans who want to support the team on the road. They can customize travel packages for individuals and small groups.
Here are some details:
•Flights: There are no direct (nonstop) flights from Buffalo or Rochester to Jacksonville, so a connecting flight is necessary from those airports. As of Monday morning, roundtrip flights from Buffalo to Jacksonville were starting at just over $720 from Saturday to Monday, while flights from Rochester or Syracuse were starting at just over $400. Flight prices were higher leaving on Friday. Flying into Orlando would be much more economical, with some nonstop options, but would require a rental car or transportation to Jacksonville, which is over a two-hour drive.
Flights prices fluctuate and may change at any time. Prices typically go up closer to the travel date. Find current prices at www.AAA.com/Travel or Google Flights - Find Cheap Flight Options & Track Prices.
•Hotels: There are several hotel options available with rates near the stadium topping $500, and more economical options a short distance away in the $200 to $300 range. Hotel rates can be found at www.AAA.com/Travel.
•Driving: It is about 1,034 miles from Highmark Stadium to EverBank Stadium – driving is an option, but it would take more than 15 hours to get there. If you drove a 2021 FWD (average about 34 MPG) it would cost about $185 in gas roundtrip, and that cost could be split among passengers. •Tickets: Tickets are available through AAA for NFL games and other entertainment events at www.AAA.com/Tickets. As of Monday morning, prices for the wild-card game were starting at $300-plus per ticket. Prices are subject to change.
