Niagara County Employment & Training (NCET) is now accepting applications for the 2026 summer youth employment program. Funded by a New York State Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) grant, this initiative provides young people with a valuable head start in the professional world.

“Through this program, we strive to provide young people with the opportunity to earn money and gain meaningful work experience,” said Donald J. Jablonski, director of Niagara County Employment & Training. “Participants get exposure to various career industries while interacting with professionals in a positive work environment.”

To be considered for the program, an applicant must be a county resident between 14 and 20 years old and come from a household with an income that does not exceed 200% of the 2026 federal poverty guidelines. These income thresholds vary according to household size (i.e., $64,300 for a family of four) and can be found on the application.

“Niagara's WorkSourceOne provides vital employment and recruitment assistance for our residents, and one of their most popular initiatives is the summer youth employment program,” said Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch, chairman of the community services committee. “I encourage our young people to take advantage of this program to join the workforce now and build the necessary skills for a successful future.”
