“Be kind to others and stay active.” That’s the advice of Heritage Manor of Lockport resident Alice Remus, who turned 100 years old on March 19.
Alice grew up in Hartland, attending school in a two-room schoolhouse. After graduating from Gasport High School, she went onto attend St. Joseph’s Business School, eventually working for the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal.
Alice has five children who have blessed her with nearly 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
“I am most proud of my family who have always supported me and each other,” she said. “We have always had the best times when we were together.”
Alice said she’s fortunate to have been able to travel in campers, buses and cruise ships.
She moved into Heritage Manor of Lockport in August of 2019.
“I’m always treated well and I’m very happy here,” she said.
