Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announces its upcoming Black Maternal Health Week Celebration, a community-centered event dedicated to uplifting Black mothers, birthing people, and families. The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Niagara Falls Convention Center, 101 Old Falls St.
This free, public event invites community members to “celebrate, connect, and support healthier pregnancies, births, and families,” as highlighted in the event flyer.
Attendees will have access to a wide range of supportive services and family-friendly activities, including onsite ultrasounds, health screenings, a “Kids Corner” with games, brunch, gift bags and door prizes. Registration is required.
The event is presented in collaboration with several community partners, including the Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center, Every Bottom Covered, Calming Nature Doula Service & Center, and Highmark.
“Black Maternal Health Week is an important opportunity to honor and support Black mothers and families while addressing disparities in maternal health outcomes,” NFMMC leadership shared. “We are committed to advancing birth equity and ensuring that all families in our community have access to compassionate, high-quality care.”
NFMMC continues to champion maternal health through its labor and delivery services, community partnerships, and ongoing commitment to equitable health care access across Niagara County.
