Wed, Apr 15th 2026 03:20 pm

Press release

Eight Days of Hope (EDOH) is excited to return to Buffalo for a seventh year of serving the Buffalo community. This summer, the team will serve the South District, bringing over 1,800 volunteers from across the country to serve in the “City of Good Neighbors.”

This outreach will take place from July 18-25, uniting businesses, churches and people from across the state to build a better Buffalo, one home at a time. Since 2019, over 1,900 families in six different districts have received free home repairs.

“As a Buffalo native, it is a true honor for me to be part of EDOH’s return to Buffalo this year,” shared Trace Gillis, director of EDOH Buffalo. “I know I speak on behalf of our staff and volunteers when I say that we can’t wait to love and serve those in need in the South District!”

For those in need of assistance in the South District, view requirements and apply online at www.eightdaysofhope.com. Applications close at 8 a.m. Monday, May 4. Families will be selected lottery-style at 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, at the EDOH Northeastern Satellite (852 Kensington Ave).

EDOH is thankful for the continued support of the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, the City of Buffalo, and local government officials to ensure that volunteers from WNY and across the country can come together to love and serve this community.
