Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center press release

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, in partnership with ConnectLife, will host a meaningful flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 30, to honor the selfless individuals who have given the gift of life through organ and tissue donation, as well as to recognize those whose lives have been saved and improved through transplantation.

The ceremony will bring together hospital leadership, staff, community members and donor families in a shared moment of reflection, gratitude and awareness.

“Today, we gather not only to raise a flag, but to recognize the profound impact of organ and tissue donation,” said Robert Orlowski, business development manager. “We honor the incredible generosity of donors and their families, whose decisions – often made in the most difficult moments – have brought hope, healing, and second chances to so many.”

Organ and tissue donation remains a critical need across the country. A single donor can save multiple lives and improve many more, making the act of donation one of the most powerful expressions of compassion and humanity.

The ceremony will also recognize transplant recipients, whose stories serve as living reminders of the life-changing impact of donation.

“Each recipient represents a second chance at life,” Orlowski added. “Their journeys reflect the lasting legacy of those who chose to give.”

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is proud to partner with ConnectLife to promote awareness, education, and community engagement around organ, eye and tissue donation. Through this partnership, the organization remains committed to honoring donors, supporting families, and encouraging individuals to register as donors.

As the ConnectLife flag is raised, it will stand as a symbol of hope for those awaiting transplants, remembrance for those who gave, and gratitude for the lives forever changed.

The ceremony will take place outside the hospital lobby at 610 10th St., at the adjacent flagpole. Refreshments will be served in the hospitals auditorium immediately after the presentation.
