Motherhood can feel isolating, especially when most local event roundups revolve around entertaining your kids. But across Western New York this May and June, there are actually plenty of opportunities for moms to step away from the mental load for a few hours, meet other women, tap back into creativity, and feel like themselves again.

From outdoor festivals and wellness experiences to networking spaces and creative workshops, here are some WNY events worth adding to your calendar this season.

•“Embroidery 101 Workshop: Textile Art Series, May 21, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens: There’s something deeply therapeutic about working with your hands – especially when your brain never seems to shut off. This beginner-friendly embroidery workshop walks you through the basics while giving you a few uninterrupted hours to slow down, focus on something creative and reconnect with yourself outside of the daily chaos. Plus, crafting inside the Botanical Gardens? Instant nervous system reset.

Starting at $75. Get tickets at www.BuffaloGardens.com.

•“Buffalo Beauty Boost: Wellness Edit,” May 21, 6-8:30 p.m., Ehnita Event Space in Tonawanda: If you’ve been feeling burnt out, overstimulated, or like you’ve completely lost touch with yourself lately, this event feels like a soft reset. Expect wellness stations, mini workshops, movement and conversations designed to help women reconnect with their minds and bodies in a way that actually feels approachable, not intimidating. Come alone or bring a friend, but either way, you’ll leave feeling lighter.

Cost: $27. Get tickets at https://www.thebeautyboost.net/buffalo or on Instagram @TheBeautyBoostBuffalo.

•“Summer Yoga @ CAM,” May 29, June 6 and 26, noon-1 p.m., Castellani Art Museum: For the moms constantly carrying the mental load, this is your reminder to pause for an hour and breathe. “Yoga @ CAM,” led by Full Circle Mind & Body of Lewiston, combines gentle movement with the calming atmosphere of the Castellani Art Museum – creating the kind of mid-day reset most moms rarely give themselves permission to take. No pressure, no expectations – just movement, mindfulness and art.

Cost: $10. Get tickets at www.CastellaniArtMuseum.org.

•“Rooted in Reading Cookie Class,” June 6, 2-4 p.m., Literary Lounge 716: Part girls’ night, part creative escape, this book-inspired cookie decorating class is basically cozy-core in event form. You’ll decorate literary and plant-themed cookies while chatting, laughing and doing something purely for fun, which, honestly, moms don’t do enough of. No experience needed, so even if your only artistic skill lately is cutting sandwiches into triangles, you’re qualified.

Cost: $55. Get tickets at www.LiteraryLounge716.com/events.

•“Buffalo Beauty Boost: Healthy Girl Era,” June 9, 6-8 p.m., Lindora Buffalo: Wellness culture can feel overwhelming fast, especially for moms already juggling everyone else’s needs. This event focuses on realistic, approachable wellness conversations designed to help women feel stronger, more energized and more connected to themselves without the pressure of perfection. Think supportive energy, practical takeaways, and a room full of women trying to prioritize themselves again, too.

Cost: $10. Get tickets at https://www.thebeautyboost.net/buffalo or on Instagram @TheBeautyBoostBuffalo

•“Mini Bookshelf Workshop,” June 11, 6-7:30 p.m., Literary Lounge 716: If your dream evening involves books, crafts and quiet creativity, this one’s for you. Spend the night building and decorating your own miniature bookshelf with tiny literary details and cozy touches. It’s the kind of low-stress, low-pressure event that lets you recharge without needing to “network” or be productive for anyone else. Come solo for some me time or bring your book-loving best friend.

Cost: $34. Get tickets at www.LiteraryLounge716.com/events.

•“Sip and Craft: Beaded Plants Workshop,” June 24, 4-6 p.m., Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens: Not every mom’s night out needs to revolve around loud bars and small talk. This peaceful crafting workshop lets you slow down, sip, create and spend time surrounded by the calming atmosphere of the gardens while making your own beaded plant art. Equal parts creative outlet and mental reset.

•“Buffalo Beauty Boost: Hippie Dippie,June 25, 6-8 p.m., Kotecki’s Grandview Grove: This one feels like summer camp for burnt-out millennial women in the best possible way. If you’ve been craving community, grounding energy or simply a night that feels different from your normal routine, this is probably your vibe.
