Price Rite Marketplace teamed up with Feed the Children, a global movement working to end childhood hunger, the Buffalo Dream Center and other corporate sponsors to host a “Feed the Children Resource Rally” to distribute food and essentials to nearly 400 local families on Aug. 13. The event is part of Price Rite Marketplace’s annual “Feeding Minds & Bodies” campaign in partnership with Feed the Children, dedicated to supporting families experiencing food insecurity.

Each family received a Feed the Children family kit including: a 25-lb. box of food, a 15-lb. box of personal care items, one case of water, and Price Rite Marketplace gift cards.

Following the “Resource Rally,” Price Rite Marketplace and the Buffalo Dream Center will distribute backpacks filled with school supplies through Feed the Children’s “Backpack-N-Go” program to help families prepare for the upcoming school year. Additional items were provided by the Buffalo Dream Center, Feed the Children, Price Rite Marketplace and corporate partners including CMC (Eggland’s Best), BelGioioso, Organic Valley, Lactalis (Galbani, President), Lifeway, Kraft, Hormel Foods, Conagra Brands, Keurig Dr Pepper, Mondelēz International, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Goya Foods, Tyson Foods, Butterball, Café La Llave, Kellogg's, Gen Re, United Foods, Coca-Cola, Smithfield Foods, Utz, Horizon Organic, Family Foods, Mamitas Ices, Sugardale (Fresh Mark), Catalina, Melona, Campoverde, Mi Niña and Riviana Foods.

“We are proud to continue our ‘Feeding Minds & Bodies’ campaign and our mission to support families that need it most throughout the communities we serve,” said Kevin McDonnell, president of Price Rite Marketplace. “Through our partnership with Feed the Children, we’ve been able to provide food and essential resources to nearly 230,000 people over the years.”

Price Rite Marketplace and Feed the Children representatives were joined by: Valerie Malia, senior legislative assistant and chief of staff to Buffalo Common Council Member David Rivera; Terry Jones, corporate partnership operations director, Feed the Children; Eric Johns, pastor, Buffalo Dream Center; and representatives from Price Rite Marketplace.

In 2025, Price Rite Marketplace and Feed the Children distributed more than 132,000 meals and essential items. Their efforts reached more than 13,000 individuals in communities served by Price Rite Marketplace stores, reflecting a continued commitment to supporting families.

Fighting hunger is at the heart of Price Rite Marketplace’s charitable work, and when paired with Feed the Children’s vision of a world where no child goes to bed hungry, it led to the creation of the “Feeding Minds & Bodies” initiative 12 years ago. With one in five children in the U.S. facing food insecurity, hunger remains a pressing issue in many communities.

“When we come together with caring partners and local communities, we can make a meaningful difference for children and families,” said Emily Callahan, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “As a global movement to end childhood hunger, Feed the Children is honored to work alongside Price Rite Marketplace and the Buffalo Dream Center. Together we are helping families experiencing hunger and hardship get the food and essential resources they need most, so children not only survive, but can truly thrive.”

Since partnering with Feed the Children, Price Rite Marketplace has contributed nearly $3 million to support Feed the Children’s mission helping more than 240,000 people across the Northeast.
