Artpark & Company will present “Red Horizons: A Celebration of Indigenous Fashion & Arts” at 7 p.m. Friday, June 20, inside the Mainstage Theater, 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston.

Doors are at 5 p.m. for the Indigenous fashion and arts showcase. The runway starts at 7 p.m.

On the ancestral lands of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, history will be made as Artpark presents its first Indigenous-led runway show and gallery presentation – a powerful celebration of Indigenous excellence in fashion, beauty and the arts, founded and produced by two visionary Tuscarora women. This event is more than a fashion show – it’s a declaration of identity, a celebration of community, and a moment of Indigenous brilliance in motion.

The event is founded by Kehala Greene-Smith, a fashion designer and the creative force behind Kreations By Kehala; and produced by A’ngelee Clause, a model, makeup artist and entrepreneur. Together, they’ve built a platform that uplifts Indigenous voices and honors cultural storytelling through high fashion and contemporary art.

“Red Horizons” will feature live performances by AntoineX, Natasha Fisher, and Semiah. These artists will set the tone for a night of celebration, pride and connection through sound and style.

Featured designers from across the U.S. and Canada will debut their signature collections, including Kreations by Kehala, K.Lookinghorse, Wabanoonkwe, Shinymoon Creations, Sacrd Thndr, Queena Ribbons, and Creator Complex.

Each designer brings bold creativity and deep cultural roots to the runway, highlighting a wide range of Indigenous design – from regalia-inspired pieces to modern couture.

In addition, Chef Lorinda’s will provide a unique culinary experience, bringing warmth and authenticity to the evening’s celebration of Indigenous creativity. VIP guests will receive a specialty menu curated by the chef. Visit www.artpark.net for details.

Strawberry Moon Festival celebrating renewal, generosity & connection

Then, on Saturday, June 21, from noon to 4 p.m., Artpark will again present the Strawberry Moon Festival – a vibrant and immersive afternoon of music, dance, storytelling, cultural teachings, workshops and Indigenous artistry.

Celebrating the teachings of the Strawberry Moon, this year’s festival embraces the theme of renewal, generosity and connection, inviting people of all ages to experience the richness of Indigenous culture.

New to this year’s Strawberry Moon Festival is “The Circle: Indigenous Teachings and Storytelling.” Here, guests will find a dedicated space to gather and experience oral traditions, songs, and cultural teachings shared by respected Elders, storytellers, and knowledge keepers. “Stories by the Fire,” Artpark’s storytelling series, will launch within “The Circle,” bringing Haudenosaunee stories and legends to life in a powerful and engaging way.

This year, the expanded Indigenous Discovery Zone offers something for everyone. The interactive space will be filled with hands-on workshops, storytelling, and cultural teachings. Visitors of all ages can create, learn and engage in meaningful activities, taking home keepsakes that embody the spirit of the day.

The Indigenous Artisan Market will showcase the artistry and craftsmanship of Indigenous makers from across Turtle Island, featuring handcrafted beadwork, pottery, jewelry, textiles, fine art and contemporary fashion. More than just a marketplace, it’s an opportunity to meet the artists, hear the stories behind their work, and take home meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.

The smoke dance competition will once again bring excitement to this year’s festival. Dancers – from tiny tots to adults – will captivate audiences with their grace, agility, speed and storytelling through movement. With dazzling footwork and vibrant regalia, this competition remains a festival highlight.

This year’s festival also highlights two extraordinary community projects:

•The Erie Canal Wampum Belt – Created to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal, this powerful symbol represents history, alliances, and Indigenous sovereignty.

•The Life-Size Dreamcatcher – A stunning representation of unity, vision, and the weaving together of community voices.

These projects celebrate Indigenous creativity, collaboration and resilience through shared expression.
