Gov. Cuomo takes further action to help those impacted by recent flooding

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced $7 million in state funding to assist homeowners who have been impacted by flooding along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. The new investment program will provide up to $40,000 for homeowners to support interior and exterior repairs to structural damage caused by flooding, as well as the repair or replacement of permanent fixtures.

A Taste of Lewiston returned to Center Street after a decade hiatus, and drew consistently large crowds all day on Saturday. On the one rain-free day this week, local residents and visitors from across the country descended upon the village to sample items from more than a dozen restaurants, and sample goods from another dozen vendors.

Old Fort Niagara's interpretive staff and volunteers and re-enacting units throughout the region will come together over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-28, to present "Soldiers through the Ages" at the historic landmark in Youngstown. This military timeline event traces the history of Fort Niagara from the early explorers of the 17th century through the mid-20th century. The event features special exhibits, camps, weapons and battle-tactic demonstrations.

Artpark & Company announced Wednesday that, thanks to additional support received, a 50 percent tuition discount and bus transportation are now offered for Artpark Theater Academy (July 10-Aug. 6).
