Old Fort Niagara will host a concert featuring four international fife and drum ensembles on Monday, Sept. 21. It is offering free admission to the fort and concert on this day to residents of Niagara, Erie and Orleans counties.

The Lewiston Town Board listened, deliberated and, following hesitation, acted on the French Landing subdivision eyed for the east side of Lower River Road in northern Lewiston. The Town Board opted to table its approval of a final plat planned for the project.

On Friday, Aug. 21, Dance Like a Star with Serge hosted the Niagara County Peach Queen Pageant contestants at the studio for a luau party. The contestants learned the cha-cha, rhumba and a few other steps. They danced with partners and were treated to performances by the professional dance staff.

Nearly 200 participated in the seventh annual Jonathon Cote Memorial Motorcycle Ride & Fundraiser, held in Erie and Niagara counties Aug. 2. It is presented each year in memory of Cote, a U.S. Army veteran. He served in Middle East conflicts in the early 2000s and returned as a contractor to Iraq only to be held captive and later killed in 2008.
