The Village of Lewiston is raising the tax rate from $7.26 per $1,000 of assessed valuation to $7.38 for the next fiscal year. The 1.68 percent bump, a 12-cent increase, means a land owner with a property valued at $100,000, for example, will see a tax increase of $12 for fiscal year 2015-16.

State Sen. Rob Ortt today announced $12.5 million has been secured to create a Learning Commons center at Niagara County Community College.
