After their interviews with judges on Wednesday night at The Brickyard Pub and B.B.Q., the Peach Queen contestants ventured over to Favorite's Pizza, which donated a tray of pizza to each of them, as well as these awesome "I Love Pizza" shirts, and a slice.

The Healthcare Association of New York State has cited Mount St. Mary's Hospital for its efforts in reducing falls of patients. The hospital earned nomination for a Pinnacle Award for Quality and Safety specifically for its initiative "Reducing Patient Falls - Purposeful Rounding."

Heart of Niagara rescues Sadie and Sally, beagle sisters, have brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "pay it forward." They recently returned home to Western New York from a 2,400-mile four-day journey, where they visited the very place from where they were rescued last year, to help bring more of their furry friends home to the safety of this area.

The Lewiston Kiwanis Club presented Artpark's seventh annual Free Family Movie Night Monday. Disney's "Frozen" was presented to hundreds of families at the outdoor amphitheater. "Frozen" movie friends Olaf, Elsa and Anna were on hand to greet the children. The Peach Queen contestants also made a special appearance at the event.

Mount St. Mary's Hospital will conduct its fifth annual "CardioCraze" Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8-11 a.m. at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston. The wellness walk incorporates Artpark, the neighborhood streets in the village, and Center Street. The event is open to the public and a fundraiser for the hospital's cardiology department.

Patrons driving to Artpark Tuesday for the Styx concert may have noticed more cars parked off South Fourth Street. Vehicles were on residential lawns - parked both parallel and perpendicular - on the road and in driveways. Some homes had more than a half-dozen parked on site.
If this appeared in contrast to previous Village of Lewiston Board rulings, it was - and it wasn't.

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will be present with adoptable dogs Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Sears court in the Boulevard Mall (corner of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Maple Road, Amherst).
